The newest publication in our Futures Series is out!
Our World of Futures Studies as a Mosaic, Part 2 is a new volume exploring the diversity and richness of futures studies and foresight through perspectives from across the globe. Building on the first volume published in 2024, this publication continues to explore how the field and its evolution are shaped by different regional, cultural, and intellectual traditions and contexts.
Continuing the mosaic metaphor introduced in the first volume, Part 2 presents each contribution as a unique piece within the broader landscape of futures studies and foresight. Bringing together twelve chapters from five continents and two international networks, the volume fosters dialogue and mutual learning while deepening the understanding of how futures-oriented thinking, practices, and knowledge evolve across different contexts.
A distinctive feature of the publication is its focus on language and culture. The authors were invited to include abstracts in their local languages and reflect on the concepts and terminology used to discuss futures within their own linguistic and cultural settings.
Similarly to Part 1, this volume invites readers to view differences as sources of inspiration and insight, encouraging reflection on what can be learned from other cultures, traditions, and regions of the world.
